I am so excited you chose me as your photographer. My hope is that you see this as not just getting pictures taken, but as a fun experience. Relax, interact, and be yourself, we are going to have a lot of fun! Don’t forget to check out my “what to wear” section for some great tips.
Location, Location, Location: I am a natural light, on location photographer. What does that mean? I depend on the sun for my lighting and the outdoors is my studio. We will shoot about an hour and half before sundown, and we can meet where ever your heart desires. If you do not have a place in mind you can tell me your ideas and I can figure out a place depending if you want a more landscaped setting or an urban setting.
When we meet up at our designated location, this is what you can expect:
Families: I want to encourage you to interact with each other, not “pose” for the camera. Don’t pretend to be having a good time for the camera, just have a good time. Talk about funny stories from the past, make each other laugh, and forget that I am around this will create extraordinary pictures.
Couples: Ladies, I know how much you want awesome pictures of you and your man, and how much your man just wants to get this shoot over with. But no worries, I will bring my bag of candies to keep him smiling:) I want these photographs to represent you as a couple. Flirt as if no one is watching, and allow me to capture who you are as a couple.
Seniors: Get ready this is going to be a lot of fun. Bring a couple of outfits if you wish, and go ahead and bring something that represents you if you want. Such as a guitar, football, your car…
Children: I have little ones of my own, so mom I know how much you want great pictures that portray your child’s unique personality. So here are a few tips to ensure that: Feed your child before the shoot and make sure they have had enough sleep, you may want to bring some wet wipes, and most importantly, allow your child to bring something the represents them. My son loves hats, his monkey, his Bob the Builder hammer, and his Thomas train, and my daughter doesn’t go anywhere without her books, so these are things I want to have in some of the pictures. As a parent I avoid bribing my child, as a photographer, I promote it. I will have smarties and pez to add some excitement to the shoot, and get some great photographs. If this is something that you are opposed to, please let me know ahead of time.
Newborns: I love being a part of new life. These pictures should be taken within 14 days of the babies birth, so keep that in mind when you schedule your appointment. Most of my photography is done outside, but for my newborn shots I typically come to your house and stay inside. Feed baby before the shoot to ensure a happier infant.
