Family

Many families are inclined to think they need to match when taking photos.  Please don’t match, but rather, coordinate.  Have solid coordinating colors and maybe all polo shirts, or all button-up shirts.  I personally love bright colors.  It is best to stay away from distracting patterns.  If you just really can’t get past the idea of matching, I would recommend going with all black rather than all white.  It tends to look better in the photos and doesn’t get washed out.

Children

I love kids!  And I really love their sense of style.  Like when my daughter puts on her ladybug boots with the matching jacket to run out and get the mail just because there is a sprinkle in the air.  Or when my son insists on wearing his cowboy hat with sandals and a dress shirt, or some sort of pulled up hood with every outfit.

I would love it if you brought something that represented who they are at this age.  We don’t have to have it in every picture, but at least a few.  Does your child have a favorite stuffed animal, blankie, boots, or hats that they love?  Bring it.

Newborns

With newborns, less is more.  Pick a cute outfit out if you want, but my favorite is the naked baby, or just a diaper. Also a favorite soft blanket to cuddle in is nice for a few shots.

Seniors

Feel free to bring a couple of outfits, but make sure they express your personality.  Think about bringing something casual, and also something maybe a little dressier.  You are welcome to bring something that is important to you such as an instrument.
